Fine lines, dryness, and a dull appearance are common skin changes, especially with age, frequent sun exposure, poor hydration, and the use of harsh products. That’s why simple recipes using vegetable oils often appeal to those seeking a more natural and economical beauty routine.

One of the most talked-about combinations is clove oil with olive oil or jojoba oil. Although it’s often called “Botox oil” on social media, this name is just a popular comparison. The mixture does not replace botulinum toxin nor does it erase wrinkles. Its main cosmetic effect comes from the hydration provided by the vegetable oil, which can temporarily leave the skin softer, brighter, and with less visible dryness lines.

Recipe for clove oil for the face.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of whole cloves
  • 3 tablespoons of jojoba oil or extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 small glass bottle, clean and dry.

Jojoba oil is usually the gentlest option for the face, especially for combination skin. Olive oil is richer and may be more suitable for very dry areas, but should be used sparingly.

How to prepare

Place the cloves in the jar and add the chosen vegetable oil. Seal tightly and let the mixture sit for approximately three to five days in a cool, dark place. Gently shake the container once a day.

After this period, strain the oil to completely remove the blackheads. Store the preparation in a clean bottle, preferably dark glass. Prepare small quantities and discard the product if you notice any change in smell, color, or texture.

How to apply it correctly

At night, wash your face with a gentle product and pat dry without rubbing. Place just one or two drops of the mixture in the palm of your hand and gently spread it over the dry areas. It’s not necessary to use four drops, especially for the first few applications.

Avoid contact with eyes, eyelids, lips, nostrils, and irritated areas. In the morning, wash your face and apply sunscreen. Using sunscreen is far more important for preventing premature aging than any home remedy on its own.

The product can be applied once or twice a week. Using a larger amount does not produce faster results and may increase the risk of redness, burning, or clogged pores.

A gentler version for sensitive skin.

Since cloves contain intense aromatic compounds, some people may not tolerate the original recipe. A gentler alternative is to use:

  • 1 teaspoon of the prepared oil
  • 2 teaspoons of pure jojoba oil

Mix the two oils in another container. This dilution reduces the concentration of the preparation. Even so, a patch test is still necessary.

Simple moisturizing mask

For quick hydration, mix one drop of diluted oil with a teaspoon of cosmetic aloe vera gel. Apply a thin layer to the face, leave on for about five minutes, and rinse well. Do not use aloe vera harvested directly from the plant without proper processing, as residues of the yellow latex can irritate the skin.

Important precautions before use

Test a small amount on your forearm and wait at least 24 hours. Do not use the mixture if itching, burning, swelling, or redness occurs.

People with dermatitis, rosacea, inflamed acne, or fragrance allergies should talk to a dermatologist before trying the preparation. Pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and people undergoing dermatological treatments also need professional guidance.

Clove oil can complement a skincare routine, but it doesn’t instantly rejuvenate the skin or eliminate deep wrinkles. For consistent results, maintain a routine with gentle cleansing, proper hydration, daily sun protection, and healthy habits.
