Recipe 1: Anti-inflammatory Golden Milk
1 cup of plant-based milk (coconut, almond, or oat)
1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
1 pinch of freshly ground black pepper (essential)
1 teaspoon of coconut oil or ghee
1 teaspoon of honey or grated ginger (optional)
Preparation: Heat the milk without letting it boil. Add the turmeric, pepper, and oil. Stir well. Sweeten to taste. Drink a warm cup at night or after your main meal. It helps you sleep better and reduces morning joint pain.
Recipe 2: Turmeric Paste (external use for localized pain)
2 tablespoons of turmeric powder
1 tablespoon of wheat flour or cornstarch
Warm water (as needed)
1 teaspoon of coconut oil
Preparation: Mix the turmeric and flour. Add water drop by drop until a thick paste forms. Stir in the oil. Apply directly to the knee, shoulder, or painful area, cover with gauze, and leave on for 20 minutes. Wash off with warm water. Use every 48 hours.
Directions for proper use
: Safe daily dose: Do not exceed 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder per day (approximately 3 grams). Higher doses may cause stomach upset or diarrhea.
Contraindications: People with gallstones or bile duct obstruction should avoid it, as turmeric stimulates bile production. It is also not recommended during pregnancy (it may stimulate the uterus) or for people taking anticoagulants (it potentiates their effect).
Mandatory absorption: Never take turmeric alone in hot water. Always with black pepper and oil; otherwise, the body will expel it without absorbing it.
Patience and consistency: Reduction of inflammatory pain is not immediate. At least 2-3 weeks of daily use are needed to notice significant improvements.
Drug interactions: Consult your doctor if you are taking medications for diabetes (may lower blood sugar levels), antacids, or chemotherapy.
It complements, it does not replace: For severe acute pain, turmeric does not replace a visit to a specialist or prescribed medications. It is an excellent aid for mild chronic inflammation.
Nature gave us this “yellow gold”. Use it with respect and wisdom, and your body will stop hurting like it used to.
