Main ingredient:

Papaya — Παπάγια (Papágia).

1 cup of ripe papaya, cut into chunks.

150–200 ml of water.

A few drops of lemon — Λεμόνι (Lemóni), optional.

No added sugar.

Papaya provides fiber, vitamin C, carotenoids, and other plant compounds. It can be part of a balanced diet, but it’s important to clarify that papaya alone does not eliminate or cure fatty liver.

🥤 A simple preparation: natural papaya smoothie

Ingredients:

1 cup papaya — Παπάγια (Papágia) ripe.

150–200 ml of water.

A few drops of lemon — Λεμόνι (Lemóni), optional.

🫗 Preparation

Wash and peel the papaya.

Remove the seeds.

Cut the pulp into pieces.

Place it in the blender along with the water.

Blend until you get a smooth mixture.

Add a few drops of lemon if you like.

Consume immediately and do not add sugar.

🌱 What can it contribute?

Papaya is a nutritious fruit that provides fiber and vitamin C. Including whole fruits in a balanced diet can contribute to improving the overall quality of the diet.

In the case of fatty liver, the most important thing is not to find a fruit that “cleanses” the liver, but to maintain a healthy eating pattern, control weight when there is excess weight, do physical activity and reduce the consumption of alcohol and drinks and foods with large amounts of added sugars.

🧡 Does papaya cleanse the liver?

No. There is not enough evidence to claim that papaya “detoxifies”, cleanses or regenerates fatty liver on its own.

It can be a good fruit in a diet, but the management of fatty liver depends on its causes and general health habits.

⚠️ An important precaution

If you have been diagnosed with fatty liver, do not replace your doctor’s recommendations with juices, smoothies, or natural remedies.

In addition, it is preferable to consume papaya whole or mashed without sugar rather than turning it into a highly concentrated juice, especially if you need to control your glucose.

And remember: a healthy diet can help take care of the liver, but no single food cures fatty liver.
